A small collection of Spanish reales, none found by me. Top row, 4 Spanish dollars, pieces of 8, 8 reale coins. 2nd row -4 reale, then three 2 reale pieces (1776 is a nice date to have). 3rd row - three 1/2 reale coins and a 1/2 reale cob. Alot of these came from a friend who metal detects. The 8 reale coins on the top are a lttle larger than a silver dollar, 4 real the size of a half dollar, 2 reale about the size of a quarter. I don't have any 1 reale pieces.

Two coins found while looking for artifacts. Soil conditions greatly affect coins that have been buried. Sandy soil generally produces coins that are in pretty good shape. Soil with a high clay content usually leaves coins heavily corroded and almost impossible to see dates or even what kind of coin it is. Both of these came from soil with more sand than clay.

These are metal buttons mostly, a couple of thimbles, found over the years. Contact period sites have alot of brass and copper objects which the native people valued highly. Some of these probably were used by native people, some probably lost by early colonial farmers.

The one on the top is about the best point I've ever found. It's made of a very high quality jasper and is a stream find. The one on the bottom is also made of jasper but the quality is not as good. Perkiomen's are considered to be very desirable point types from NJ/Pennsylvania. It is unclear whether they were broadspears or knives or served multi functions
