Cretaceous Shark Tooth Book Reprinted.

My favorite Cretaceous shark tooth book is once again available! It's The Collector's Guide to Fossil Sharks and Rays From the Cretaceous of Texas. When this book first came out over 10 years ago I purchased a copy, and after reading it immediately purchased a second copy in case something happened to the first. The book wasn't available for long and a lot of people missed out on getting one. When word got out that I had two copies I received numerous offers to buy my extra copy, with several offers above $100.00. I still have both copies. The moral of the story is, it's a good book. It is based on teeth found in Texas, but most of the Cretaceous shark teeth along the east coast can also be found in the book. It is available directly from the authors at www.texassharks.org . The majority of the species covered are micros, but there are plenty of large teeth as well, including some awesome Ptychodus. Some of the information given includes how common the species is, maximum size, general areas of occurance, and geological formation. One nice thing is that many of the species have several different positional teeth illustrated. Another key feature is that the book is affordable!!!

Re: Cretaceous Shark Tooth Book Reprinted.

BigRedMeg is absolutely right. I have this book and its incredible. I would recommend it to anyone. Last time we went up to Aurora I took it with me so t$ and da f0ssZ could read it; they both spent well over an hour of alone time with the book when there were real shark teeth present in the hotel room.

Re: Cretaceous Shark Tooth Book Reprinted.
I hope you all like that book.  I use it like a encyclopedia to what I find over here.  But don't let all those great pics fool you, It is hard work finding the teeth.  But we do have a great number of different teeth to find here.  My personal favorite is the Ptychodus teeth.  The ridges on top of the teeth are almost like finger prints on some species.  Really cool to find. And some get huge.  Someone here locally found a ptychodus polygyrus the size of a golf ball.  I have only found pieces that big, but one of these days i will get the giants.

Get the book.  It's cheap, great info & pics!  If you have PayPal it takes just a few seconds to pay and a few days later you got a great book!
