Re: Bob Ernst, owner of sharktooth hill, passes away

I know someone who had plans to go out there to go collecting this weekend I think (with some local club), and apparently, the wife of Bob Ernst is allowing the collecting to continue (at least short term) .

Re: Bob Ernst, owner of sharktooth hill, passes away
The Buena Vista Museum is going to be collecting on his property and some people from the east coast are traveling out there as well. The Buena Vista Museum has held hunts on his property to benefit the museum in both the fall and spring the last few years. Bob's wife determined that it was all set and Bob would have wanted them all to come out and hunt, so she told them to go ahead with the plans. CalDigger will be assisting since he was a regular out hunting with Bob.

I am sure some of the vultures have started to contact his wife about the property, but have no idea what her intent is. Hopefully enough good people will be around her to shield her from that stuff.

I met Bob a number of times and can vouch for what a great guy he was. I have said it before, I have been very lucky to meet a number of really good quality people though fossil hunting, and Bob was *definitely* one of those people. Very giving and very trusting even though some took advantange of him. He was always a great host when I visited and always had a smile to greet you. He will be missed.
