Re: Shark Pictures
I've been meaning to join, but i have been putting it off.  I met a bunch of the guys at fossil mania in Glen rose last year, but I have just been real busy.

Re: Shark Pictures

Just yesterday and today, as a member of the DPS, I helped with a mosasaur (tylosaur?) dig in Ovilla, south of Dallas.  Sorry, no pix from me but alot of other people took some.  It was found in Red Oak creek by the home owners.

The fossil is jumbled and broken, not sure what's all there yet.  You can see a bit of jaw bone, two verts, and a rib in a 5 foot long block.  They intend to get the whole block out in one or two pieces and take to the Dallas museum for prep.

Re: Shark Pictures

The Mapsco store on Camp Bowie in Fort Worth has the Dallas quadrangle geological map for $12.  The Bureau of Economic Geology in Austin sells it for $6.
