Lee Creek Cowshark Teeth

For the folks that asked me about Lee Creek cowshark teeth, I posted an unassociated set of 7-gill cowshark teeth that I have under the shark teeth gallery, under Notorynchus Primigenius.  The image isn't the greatest, but you can get an idea of what the teeth look like from the various positions.  I was blessed enough to even have the upper symphyseal tooth, just like in the modern N. cepedianus.

I'd like to see some nice examples of the 6-gill teeth, especially the lower symphyseal if anyone has one.

Daryl.

Re: Lee Creek Cowshark Teeth

I added a pic of the nicer lower Notorhynchus primigenius teeth I have from Lee Creek to the shark tooth section.

Re: Lee Creek Cowshark Teeth

Wow, that's a lot of lowers in what appear to be perfect shape!  Just curious, do you have any pics of pathological cowshark teeth.  I only have one but I can't seem to locate it right now.  When I do I'll image it and post it.

Daryl.

Re: Lee Creek Cowshark Teeth

Every tooth in the frame is what I consider Top Grade. I have a few more but the frame only fits 100 comfortably. I don't have any pics of pathological lowers, but I do have a couple that have cusps that sort of fold over from the main cusp toward the posterior end. The best pathological cow shark tooth I've seen recently is an upper parasymphesial with two tips that form a "V" up from the root. Someone found it in a pile of Lee Creek spoils.
