I am new to the board and this is my first post. I live in Southeast VA and love to hunt for teeth. Most of my hunting is done along all of our rivers around here. I dive some spots, walk the beach in others, and lastly the most productive method is digging in the rivers gravel beds. Many of the bigger megs that I find along the top layer of gravel are nearly pitch black wih tannic acid stains. My best spot is now a freshwater river full of leaves which cause the stains. I was just curious to see if anyone has any methods of removing these stains. I have used a 50-50 mix of lemon juice and water and let the tooth soak in there and this seems to be the best I have found. I have noticed that on the tougher stains the tooth may need to soak over night and occassionally this also fades out the color in the root, which is what I am trying to avoid. Anyone got any tips? I bought a dremel last night with the polishing kit, but that seems to be to brutal of a method, plus is creates a smell like the denitisit office (I practiced on some of my partials)
