Re: Diving Cooper River for the 1st time.
Yeah, there are some spots where I notice the current, but for the most part, I'm pretty much anchored. I rarely have to kick to stay in place. I have 2 lbs in my BC and 8 lbs on my belt, but I think after I save up a few pennies, I'm going to get some more soft weights and put all the weight in my BC. I think my weight belt pulls down on my hips and makes my back tired.

I just wish I had my own boat ha ha. This 1 hour time limit is for the birds - I still have 1500 psi after an hour.

Re: Diving Cooper River for the 1st time.
DW thanks for the response. Your right. You can't prepare enough untill you actually just go do it. 1st dive I spent about 45 inutes in sand_ they told me to look for gravel- I thought I had found it untill " i found it " Now I know why everyone else was wearing knee pads. Vis took a couple of minutes to get used to but was tollerable. Only found a couple of frags on the 1st dive.  The second was a little better. Landed right on the gravel bed and stayed for the whole hour. My light started to fade and the tide was shifting so vis fell below 12 inches and every time the current pushed a twig or piece of seaweed past me I about freaked out. It was definatly more intence than I thought it would be. Definalty worth the 4 hour drive and I will do it again. No big Megs this time alot of broken pieces and fragments, a couple Makos and a really nice Hemi. Again thanks for the tips

I used to dive with Captain Tom all the time. Where did he take you?

Re: Diving Cooper River for the 1st time.
Not quite sure -- not far from the oil tankers and past the salinty station.
