Display Pictures

I know all you hardcore collectors have displays with all your fossils displayed for some to see.  I know I have my better ones displayed to show off to guests.  What I would like to see, and I know others would to is a pic of your displays.  Or where you store your goods.  With all the megs I have seen in the last few weeks/months, there should be some good displays.  I'll have to organize mine a little better and then get a pic up.

Re: Display Pictures

Jax I'm still officially a greener, in my first year, but I have found a system that I like and looks good.  Michaels Crafts stores have these really nice cherry wood frames/boxes that can hold relatively large items.  I have one frame/box for each kind of tooth.  I have just the very best of my collection in the box at that time.  When I find something new and worthy of the display case I rotate out older "less worth" teeth.  They are in my "office" at home along a rail type display used to show dishes. My wife calls my room the "death" room...I will post other pics

Re: Display Pictures

To fully appreciate my "office" and why my wife refers to this room as my "death room", with plenty of bones from dead things, you must see the other side.     I am also passionate about other types of hunting as well!!

Re: Display Pictures

I not only do not have a room to display my fossils, let alone my own office, my whole collection is in storage!  I'm building an addition on my house and once done I'll have a small "utility" room that I can store my collection in, but still won't have a dedicated room for displaying anything.  To be honest, if I can't have a dedicated room to display stuff and then limit access so nothing gets broken, I'd rather have it stored away.  It would be great to be able to display all my riker mounts and shark jaws though!

Re: Display Pictures
Chris, nice display. I love the display boxes. How do you keep the teeth from shifting when displayed vertically in the box? Thanks

Re: Display Pictures

Thanks its a start.  I know a lot of people here have many more teeth and cool stuff.  The display cases have a pretty firm white "foam",  the teeth stay put no problem.  I think they are 12$ to 14$ per display...but I got two on sale for 10$.  Real wood, glass,  and have little brass hinges and a hook.  The only problem with these is if the meg is too thick then you have to move up to a riker display.  I ordered a few in black/glass top with anticipation of eventually finding some teeth over the 4" mark...I hope!!!

Re: Display Pictures

Hi Jax,Still being new at collecting,I didn't really consider putting my fossils out for display. However, when the kids moved out they made my decision for me on how to display my finds. They left a nice enterta

inment center with glass shelves that can be lit up.It shows off the fossils real well. The only problem I see with this, once I start building up the collection,I can't show it all off.I'll have a picture up soon, once I figure out on how to attach it.
