charleston area islands
I really enjoy screening and walking on beaches looking for sharks teeth, and was wondering if anyone could tell me if sullivan,or folly,or edisto beach areas might be any good? Are there any other good beach areas around charleston anyone could suggest? Also, are there any ideas as to where i could screen along the cooper river.Any thoughts would be very much appreciated? Thanks alot

Re: charleston area islands
you can't really screen in the cooper river - its too deep and the fossil bearing layers are too deep under the water. you can walk along Edisto Beach and find teeth at low tide. There was a great post under the Va. Shark Teeth heading that mentioned locations you could visit there. i've never heard of teeth found on Sullivan's or Folly, but there could be stuff there. I've heard there are spots along the ashley river you can sift, but I don't know where they are. good luck!
