Green Mill Run NC
Where the heck is this place anyway? I hear bits and pieces on the net, but can't nail down an exact spot. I'm beginning to think it may be a myth! Any help would be appreciated, Thanks!

Re: Green Mill Run NC
No problem with the directions. For anyone interested, I'd recommend keeping track of the Greenville weather and making back-up plans (ie, Aurora spoil piles) when considering a Greensmill Run trip. If the water is too high it's very difficult, if not impossible, to collect, and after a good rain it probably takes a few days for the water to recede enough to collect.

Re: Green Mill Run NC
Good thinking. Right now the creeks around here (Northern VA) are out of their banks and dangerous. Thanks for the tip...

Re: Green Mill Run NC
I would like to know if anyone has EVER found anything worth while at this place. I have relatives that live in Greenville and collect shark teeth there. Last time I went to Green Mill Run (across from the park) it was full of garbage and was being guarded by two big dogs. In my opiion this place is not worth the time. Please let me know if you have actually found anything at this place.

Re: Green Mill Run NC
Some world-class fossil Great White (C. carcharias) teeth have come out of Greensmill Run, but the last few times I've been there it's been pretty lousy. I've personally found a couple really nice GW teeth the first few times I went there. But you have to time it just right. You need to go after a good rain, but if you go too soon after the rain the water is too high. If you wait too long, then other collectors will have already found the good stuff. For me, it's the small possibility of finding that 3" killer GW tooth that will keep me from forgetting about that place. :) Not sure where you went, I've never seen any dogs where I go.

Re: Green Mill Run NC
I usually start at the foot bridge near the baseball field/picnic tables and work my way east.
