Shark Rostral Nodes (shark noses)
About a year ago, I picked up an interesting piece on the James River in Virginia because "it looked like something".  I have since identified it as a shark rostral node.  From the little I have been able to find  these fossils are very rare.  I will take a pic and post it soon under Virginia trip reports.  Have any of you found this type of fossil before, or even seen one?  I have read of several being found in PCS.

Re: Shark Rostral Nodes (shark noses)

Mason,

I myself have never found any but there is a picture off one on elasmo trip date September 24-25, 2005.    And then I found this picture on the MGS Fossil Gallery.

Re: Shark Rostral Nodes (shark noses)
That's what I have, thanks for the photos and reference. I'll try to put the pics here but if it doesn't work will do it by posting a trip report.
