ok, maybe it's me. Having moved to SC from Florida about a year ago I have to wonder if possibly I've gone suddenly clueless as to finding sharks teeth. I have enjoyed far more success in various locals in Fl (Fernandina Bch, Gainesville, Venice) then anywhere I have searched in SC. At first I thought it was just me, but my son and daughter have had same lack of joy as I have. We have searched Folly Bch, various parts of Edisto river on and off for about the last 6 months. This includes both beach combing as well as diving in the river. I am not so proud that I will forgo any advise that others out there can give me. I'm not asking for GPS coordinates to your favorite spot, well maybe I am.....but any general advise or a "point me in that direction" would be appreciated. If I hear one more time from my kid "we used to find at least a dusky tooth or even a Meg by this time in Fl..." I will commit a heinous act and can't be held responsible for the outcome.

I tried a topic like this a few years ago. This was the general answer: " no one is going to let on to the location their honeypot - good luck.
I have never been, but I would search the cooper river area or any of the streams up to near summerville. There are big teeth, it just takes a lot of time looking where new construction has started or in ditchs.
I've never had any luck beach collecting in SC, so if you spend most of your time doing that I understand your frustration. Occasionally you'll hear stories about nice great whites washing up at Folly Beach, but usually its a tiny isolated tooth. Edisto beach is only slightly better. There was a forum post years ago about where to hunt there.
Have you tried the spot in Summerville on the site? There is a map and instructions about what to bring. You'll find more teeth there in an hour than you would in a month on the beach around here.
Construction sites used to be awesome when they were building in Summerville in the late 90s through a few years ago. Now, those developments are done and the new developments are towards Moncks Corner, out past Goose Creek. I have searched those spots for countless fruitless hours with no success. The layer is just too deep over there and the digging is not hitting it. I haven't seen a good fresh dig site in over a year and a half. I'm sure eventually there will be a good land spot again, but for now all we have is sifting creeks and ditches. If you want big teeth, you had better dive. There are still monstrous megalodons in all the rivers around here. Not to mention big benedenis, angustidens, chubutensis, and great whites. And the blasting currents are always eroding out new treasures for us, so the rivers will always be productive.
