Youtube movies about finding shark teeth
Lately, I've seen a bunch of great movies on Youtube lately of people finding teeth. Encouraged, I shot a video of a recent trip my son and I made, and we actually ended up doing pretty well. I finished cropping it to be under 2 gb in size and less than 10 minutes to comply with Youtube's requirements. I have uploaded my mpeg encoded avi video completely 3 separate times, and each time the movie gets chopped by Youtube to less than 50 seconds when it should be about 8 minutes. Anybody else have this happen to them?  Youtube's help forums have some posts of people who are also having the same problem, but with all the smart people out there who enjoy this site, I figured my chances of finding an answer were better here! I want to share my first fossil hunting movie!

Re: Youtube movies about finding shark teeth

DW, a buddy of mine is having this same type of trouble.  I asked him if he figured it out and he said he has temporarily given up.  He forwarded me the link below which talks about optimizing your video for Youtube.

Good luck,

Daryl.

Re: Youtube movies about finding shark teeth

I figured it out - the problem was my new computer. I got a XP pro downgrade because I refuse to acknowledge Vista and the drivers for the factory installed wireless don't exist for XP.

Long story short, my video is up and so is my latest post

Re: Youtube movies about finding shark teeth
Hmmm that is pretty cool, I was thinking about getting a camera and trying that as well, but then I started thinking about as I was filming if I found something awesome, or say had a snake fall out of an overhanging tree and land on me or such, and then I would have to edit out a lot of vulgar language and girly screams LOL...  I guess for now I will stick with plain photos!  But definitely keep em coming!

Re: Youtube movies about finding shark teeth

DW, that is just plain awesome that you took me sharks tooth hunting with you and your son (via video).  I'm sure that I'll have dreams of that creek!  Anyway, keep the vids coming because it's more fun watching those than anything else while I'm eating lunch at work!  So, when are you taking me again (via video)?  I can't wait!
