Hey Steve- My brother and I have been to the Pope's Creek site several times...We have found 4-5 Chubs/small megs but only 1-2 in good shape. We have found several nice mako teeth with excellent color and I also picked up a very good Giant Thresher tooth there...That being said, I havent been there in over a year (ranger kept hasseling us about fossil collecting not being permitted, etc.). Just an update: we were at westmoreland on the weekend (11/13), and the cliffs are still closed. the ranger said they had a bad slide 2 summers ago (!) and the cliffs have been closed since. the slide apparently extended 60 yards out into the water, though i saw no sign of it. they still rent cabins up on top of the cliffs; i guess it's safer to be sliding down the cliff than being on the bottom! anyway, the water was high and rough, so there's wasn't much to see anyway. we had just never been there before and wanted to check it out.
