O.K we all know ,or most of us has come to terms that c. angustidens where here before c. megalodon.im here to see others impute on why if the two sharks (about 15 mill difference)are the angys teeth such in great shape rather than its larger son meg.it still baffles me to pick up a perfect(charleston area)angy about 2.5" and a 3.0 meg and find the meg is in worse shape than its older kin.???hmmmm

The layer that the megalodons come from has been reworked many times by the ocean over the eons. However, the layers that the really nice angustidens come from has not been reworked nearly as much, if any at all. So the much older teeth appear to be in much better shape.
