To get in the first few weeks you have to join the Friends of the Aurora Fossil Museum. They are given precedence when and if access to Lee Creek is given to collect during a particular season. The money from your membership goes to support the museum, fun educational programs, create displays, the fossil festival, etc. It a great cause with awesome perks.

Saturday showed perfect weather and drew a crowd of some
fine fossil folk. It was a great pleasure for me to meet
the crew representing the Black River Fossils Club, also.
For Daryl and others going into the mine this season, I'd
recommend you bringing a shovel (check out the weekend
report on Elasmo.com to see why).

Thanks for the tips. I'll plan on bringing some digging tools. Hopefully it'll rain a bunch before my trip too!
