Multitude of fossils
Hello... I'm new to this site. I've been diving in the Cooper two weekends a year for the last three years. I've found some interesting items during my dives and I was wondering if there was some way to post pictures of them to help to have them identified. I know you problably get this a lot and I apologize for any inconvience, but I would LOVE to know more about what I have! Any help would truly be appreciated! Thanks! Steve...

RE: Multitude of fossils
Steve,
Welcome to the few, the proud, the crazy, the shark tooth divers. There are a lot of very good sites for helping you to ID teeth. On this site, you can go under 'collections...fossil shark teeth' to see examples of each kind. Another good site is www.elasmo.com. You can also go to some of the 'dealer' sites and compare it to their stock (e.g. www.megalodonteeth.com). If that fails for you - check out yahoo groups and there is a "carolinageorgiafossils" group and a "floridafossils" group - both of which let group members post pictures. Good luck!

RE: Multitude of fossils
Thanks Paul! I've been ok with the identification of teeth. My questions are more toward the other, less identifiable items that I've found. I've exhausted all conventional ways of identifying these items. I appreciate the website info and I'll look into it! I'm from PA, are you anywhere near me? I'm going to try to dive at Calvert Cliffs in MD. I'm looking for a buddy. Let me know. Thanks again for the info! Steve...
