Fern beds in Schuylkill County, PA
Hi. I was wondering if you could provide me directions to the fossil sites where you can find ferns. My nephew and niece are huge fossil kids (8 and 6) and I would love to be able to take them somewhere to find real fossils. There really aren't any places commercially where I could take them to find fossils. I am from Allentown, PA. Does anyone know of any places to find fossils or genstones in my area? The kids would love it. Any help? Thanx.

Rick

Rick, do a Google search on two locations: Red Hill, PA and then Swopes Pit off of Swopes Valley Road. I think these palces might be cloase to you.

Daryl.

You do need permission to collect Red Hill. You should consider joining the Delaware Valley Paleontological Society for Pa field trips. www.dvps.org
