Brrrrr!
I took a quick look with a friend this morning and almost froze to death. 28 degrees with a stiff breeze. We found a couple broken pieces, but nothing spectacular. Where is summer?

Re: Brrrrr!

That cold weather can be your friend from what I remember.  It helps bring stuff up, out of the feilds.

Snowing in Texas, in April? I guess we're not the only "lucky" ones. Are you into artifact hunting jax?

Hey Chris. Yes, the cold weather can be your friend, but if I had half a brain I'd let the frost bring the artifacts up and I'd wait until I didn't need long johns and gloves to find them. Gotta go when you can I guess.

I know that same urge!  It happens with my shark teeth hunts, fishing trips and hunting trips.  When you gotta go , you gotta go!!

Re: Brrrrr!
We were planning on going out for a few hours this afternoon, but we have about 4" of new snow on the ground today. I've looked for artifacts in all kinds of nasty weather, but I draw the line at shoveling snow.

Re: Brrrrr!
Bob, I love to hunt for arrowheads and other artifacts, but down here in texas they are few and far between.  I was hunting fossils in a creek in east tx with a friend from this site and he found a nice broken spear point.  But nothing for me yet.  I did grow up in upstate NY and my dad and I always hit the fields just after they plowed them to pick arrowheads.  I have had to make a transition to fossils cause there are just so many around here, and cool to find, but i always have my eye open for the artifacts.

Re: Brrrrr!

We are lucky to have the artifacts that we have here in this area.At the same time, I'm liking fossils more and more. My girlfriend has always liked them and It's rubbing off. We find some nice ones while looking for other artifacts. Guess im out of luck when it comes to shark teeth though.
