Re: Fresh Dirt
Hi jp. We are very lucky to have lots of places to hunt, but the same thing is happening here. I can think of five or six different farms that have gone out in the past few years. At the same time, we are able to add a couple new places to hunt each year, so I guess we have it pretty good. The hunting has come to a standstill here for the time being. We got 17" of snow this past weekend, but it's melting fast in the valleys and there is a chance that I'll be able to get out and play in the mud this weekend. Good luck to you too. Happy hunting.

Re: Fresh Dirt
Hey Bob - That's a lot of snow. Hopefully the "Spring thaw" will set in and pretty soon you'll be in good shape to get out into those fields. It's great you are able to continue to find farms with owners willing to let you hunt on their property. Have the farmers up your way continued the traditional forms of plowing in the Spring? Some of the farms here in Jersey use the "no till" method. The weather here in NJ is supposed to be in the 60's and 70's this weekend and hopefully it will be the same or close to that up your way. If that is the case, I think you will be playing in the mud. Anyhow, have fun.

Re: Fresh Dirt
Thats too much snow, but It's going fast. Things are starting to look good for this weekend. Conditions are still pretty bad, but after waiting all winter I've got to get out every chance I get. We are seeing more and more no till here every year too. There is still quite a bit of traditional plowing done, but I do notice a gradual change. That makes me think of a place I found a couple years ago. Lots of cool stuff, but I was only able to hunt it once before the new hay came up. Hopefully it will be planted back to corn this year. Keep me posted jp.

Re: Fresh Dirt

Hey Bob you still got all that snow??  Makes things kinda hard to hunt like that.  Im going out tomorrow to a creek to hunt teeth but its know for arrowheads and other artifacts so i'm keeping my fingers crossed.  Good luck with the weather, it should be warming up soon for ya.  Its 80 down here so it should be heading your way.

Re: Fresh Dirt

Hi jax. The snow is gone here for  the most part. 60's and sunny. As a matter of fact, I'll be going hunting in just a few minutes. How exactly do you look for the shark teeth? Do you just walk the creeks, dig, or what ? Sounds interesting. Good luck with your hunt tomarrow and keep sending the warm weather this way.
