Re: Fresh Dirt
That's a cool tooth jax. If I'm not mistaken, they ate shellfish right? I went to a renaissance festival here in NY a few years ago. It is different, but Interesting . Did they have the turkey legs at the one down there? I got one at the festival here that was so big it took both hands to eat it. I't may be a while before I post any more pics. I had a friend take the last ones for me. My digi cam is on the bottom of the Unadilla river. Long story.

Re: Fresh Dirt
Yeah that shark ate shellfish.  The Turkey leg thing is big down here.  They did have them there and I had me one.  You can go to the local flea market and get them, and i think alot of the pro sports teams have them as well.  I love em.  The bottom of a river can't be good for a digi cam

Re: Fresh Dirt
Hey jax. How big is that tooth? It's hard to tell without something to compare it to. I't sure looks like a nice one though.

Re: Fresh Dirt
Its about an inch.  Those teeth get pretty big depending on the species.  I found a piece of one that is just a corner and it is under an inch.  That would have put it at about at least 2 inches.  I can wait to find a whole one that size.

Re: Fresh Dirt

I just posted two Ptychodus I think you will enjoy. Look under P. mortoni. They don't look like the smaller P. mortoni teeth that I have, but I was told by a knowledgeable Texas collector that they are typical jumbo mortoni teeth.
