Re: Welcome to the artifact Discussion Forum!
Ditchweezil, Thanks for all the pointers. Sorry if I was too bold in asking for some hints. Your web site DOES give a lot of information. Thanks again for all of your fine work on this site. Eric

Re: Welcome to the artifact Discussion Forum!
I agree with Ditchweezil 100%. Almost all of our finds have come from plowed ground, adjacent to streams. Everything from a trickle that you can step over, to the bigger streams and rivers. Natural lakes are excellent places to look too. If there are some plowed fields bordering them, all the better. People camped and traveled along these water sources for thousands of years.

Re: Welcome to the artifact Discussion Forum!

I just thought of something else on the subject. Most of you probably already know this, but it may be helpful to some. When I first started looking for artifacts, I took the "high ground" aspect a little too far. Only looking on the highest points along streams etc. It dawned on me one day, that high ground can be any place higher than the water would be at floodstage. Once I realised this, I started finding things on a regular basis. I't works well in this area anyway. Sorry if I'm posting too much. I'm obsessed with this subject.

There is no such thing as posting too much. I'm obsessed, too, and that's why this site is here. Enjoy! Post!
