A Christmas drenching

As an extra little holiday present to us, mother nature poured out her goodness all day Christmas Eve. I know we had 3 inches or more. The ditch is the place to go when that happens. Anyway, its never good to go the day after a heavy rain - the water is still too deep and cloudy, and the only stuff to be found is generally not worth flooding the boots with icy ditch water. Plus, the next day was Christmas! Who in their right minds would go out collecting on Christmas? It was out of the question for me, so I didn't even consider it. I just know that I was up at the crack of dawn on the 26th when tha duDe came to my door ready to hunt. The water was still quite high, but clear. We walked it from end to end, covering as much as we could. Another hardcore hunter was out there a little after we were, believe it or not! We left for where else, Taco Bell, around lunch time and we waited for our dad to get off work so we could take him out there. We sifted a little with him, and then called it quits about 3:30. All of us found teeth, and isn't that what its all about?
