TriceratopsDuring a hunting trip into the Hell Creek Formation of South Dakota one of my more experienced volunteers recovered a triceratops toe bone. At the time I just wrapped it and put it away. I mean, toe bones are a dime a dozen. Right? It turns out that tricerotops toe bones are RARE and this specimen was in almost perfect condition. An expert said it was in the top three best ever recovered. All in a days work!
