Better than Football!

I had the choice on Sunday to either go tooth hunting, or stay home and watch football.  Since I already know that my team, the Redskins, will be fortunate to scrape out 6 wins this season, I decided that the time would be better spent at the beach.

I figured that surface hunting would be almost as futile as the Skins trying a 20 yard pass, so I brought along my trusty screen box and shovel.  After about 4 hour of sifting gravel, my back is ready to quit on me (kinda like the Redskins offense!), but the results were well worth the effort (unlike the Skins offense!).  I found 2 small Meg teeth measuring 1-13/16ths and 1-9/16ths; 4 Makos over 1-1/2 inch, including a beautifully preserved 1-9/16ths lower; a beat-up Hemi that still came in at 1-9/16ths; and a ?Squalodon? tooth measuring just under 1-7/8ths.  Plus lots of smaller teeth.

And yes, the Skins got their rears well kicked.

Hi Tony, that was a pretty sweet Meg you found too! How about posting it here so I can get a better look at it? See you at the beach!

Hey Tom, good to see you had a good day. Good running into you again down there. We did good on Saturday but after the sunup to sundown marathon I was too beat to work real hard on Sunday. I totaled up with 7 Makos, 4 real nice ones and a dozen Hemis along with a bunch of the usual stuff, but no Meg. Although Toothsnob did find 3 on Saturday, 2 very small ones and the 3+ incher I told you about. It was a real nice one with a broken tip, unfortunately. I'll post the trip soon, now that I have a new computer. Keep diggin.... Content Quality : 10 of 10

Tom, nice to see someone is finding something. Last time I went I paid my $9 and didn't find much of anything - and I sifted for a while too here and there. Water was kinda high and I couldn't find a decent area for sifting. Content Quality : 10 of 10
