Clinging to the Carcharocles Lifeline

We know the summer is almost over, so we're hitting the river as much as possible before the diving season is over. The weezling had a half-day today at school so when he got home the truck was packed and ready to go. Edisto Mike was ready, too, when we met him at the boat landing. A few minutes in his pontoon boat and we were at the dive site. We geared up quickly and were in the water asap. The weezling, still too small to dive, was ready before us and was eager to jump in the water and hunt. That boy is determined to find teeth, and he was cool with using a mask and snorkel while hunting the anchor line, so I pulled the anchor along next to me and he just swam up and down the anchor line picking up teeth, then swim up for a breath. He did really well despite his limited hunting range. His best find was a 2 5/16 mako in great shape - one of the best I've seen from the Edisto. I got a shot of him underwater in the movie so you can see him in action. Speaking of movie, this dive was my first attempt at making a movie underwater and I think it turned out pretty good! My next river trip (Saturday) I'll make another.

Today was another pretty good haul - we had a lot of overhead sun which made the teeth easy to see on the bottom.
