The Last Frigid Dive of the Year

I went on a business trip last week, and because I came home on the weekend, I got to take Thursday and Friday off. I've had to be an adult lately and work instead of hunt, so these days off were going to be spent at least in part in the pursuit of fossils! I hit the river today, and even though visibility was awesome, I was only in an hour before I called it quits. It was a chilly 63 degrees, and since I only brought a wetsuit, I was frigid cold. Imagine getting into the water, being all warm, and then the icy water drips in from everywhere! Man, I'm still shivering as I remember it. I should have brought the semi dry, but I didn't think the water would be that cold. Anyway, I still managed to pick up a few fossils. A big shamer megalodon was the first find of the day, but the coolest was a complete whale vertebra complete with whatever that part is that the spinal cord goes thru. I could go back to the river, but DANG! Fossil diving just isn't as much fun when you're shivering!
