1 15/16" Great White Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias
I believe this one was a fluke because I was just trying somethin new and started digging in a area where most of the layer was dug out by the track-ho and I found this one in this gray clay that is right below the hawthrone in this area. I dinged a few serrations where the enamel meets the root with my shovel on accident, but its not to bad. The root on this tooth is very well perserved, something you never see on most great whites from here and the colors are great to....
1 11/16" Great White Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias

2" Great White Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias
I dug this out about 10 feet from where I found the little meg today. When I flipped it out, I couldn't tell if the root was intact, so I didn't know if it was awesome or not. When I cleaned it up later, though, it turned out to be in an incredible state of preservation. We seldom find great white teeth at land sites with intact roots. For some reason, they are almost always chewed up or gone. This one escaped that fate, thank goodness. Every serration, including the tip, it sharp. The ro...

1 3/4" Great White shark tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias
Its been a while since I've found a carcharias tooth. This one was just smiling at me from the bottom of the ditch when I found it. It was easy to see because it was highlighted against the white sand. It’s a nice tooth - the root is 95% complete. It would be 100% but there are a few flakes missing. The serrations are nice, too....
1 15/16" Great White Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias
It seems like I have been finding a lot of great whites lately, but that's not typical. They are indeed rare to find, especially with the root intact. This one has great serrations and terrific coloration on the back....
1 5/8" Great White Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias
Here's a lucky find! Rarely do nice great whites come along, but here is a pristine specimen with fabulous coloration! It has a cool story, too. You may notice that it is not in the trip picture for the day. This is because it fell out of my pocket and I didn't find it until several days later when I was at a gas station cleaning all the trash out of my truck. I had one of my co-workers with me and I was telling him about toothin. I told him I would bring in a tooth to show him, and there, on th...
2 1/8" Great White Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias

2 13/16" Great White Tooth   Carcharodon carcharias
Here is a truly massive upper anterior tooth. The max size for Great Whites is about 3", and this comes really close. It comes from the Pisco formation in Peru. Isn't is amazing to think that without mankind's involvement, there is a shark alive today that can have teeth this large?...
1 7/8" Great White Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias

1 1/16" Great White Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Carcharodon carcharias
This is a lower tooth from a juvenile shark. Notice the small 'cusps' on both sides of the blade where it meets the enamel. This feature is rare, and is only present in young whites....
