Pathologic Crow Shark Tooth
Green Mill Run, North Carolina, USA - Squalicorax Pristodontus |
We don't find Squalicoraz where I hunt normally, so I always look forward to the chance of finding one when I hunt Greensmill Run. I pulled this little beauty from a sweet gravel layer, and even though I could tell it was complete, I didn't know until later when I cleaned it that it was pathologic. There are ridges growing all across the base of the enamel of the tooth. The largest grouping looks like a saw blade erupting out of the tooth. A very cool find!... |
