Macko Rackification

I would have posted this trip earlier if my old camera didn’t die on me while I was collecting in the pit! I had high hopes for this trip after hearing about all the rain that PCS had received. I believe my mojo for this trip came from a fortune cookie that I received after eating Chinese for lunch the day before that said, “Good luck bestows upon you. You will get what your heart desires.” I’ve always wanted to find a 3 inch plus mako, but I would have never expected to find one in PCS!

In the pit the collecting started off slow for me. I witnessed one guy a few yards from me who already found a 5 inch meg after being only about 10 minutes in the pit. The first half of the day I spent mostly in the Pungo and I racked! For the last half of the day I hit the Yorktown. I spotted half of a tooth exposed from a few feet away. At first I thought oh yeah a meg! Upon closer inspection I realized it was an immense 3 inch mako! I was already in gravy mode before I found the 3 inch mako and this tooth just put more icing on the cake. Ditchweezil did not fail to represent either and presented an awesome meg and huge hemi. At the end of the day it was a sweet victory bell!
