Aurora Fossil Festival

This was my first trip to the Fossil Fesival in Aurora. I was impressed with the turnout for the festival considering that Aurora is such a small town. I was also impressed by the turnout for the volunteer trip into the mine on Sunday. I didn't remember seeing that many volunteers on Saturday. The trip to the mine on Sunday was exceptional. We were in a new area very close the where they are mining. I can see why they don't alllow hunting in the summer, it was pretty hot in there. I'm somewhat use to the heat since I live in Florida, but when it's 90 degrees in the bottom of the pit with no breeze and you have to wear long pants and a hard hat and carry a backpack, it gets hot!!! I spent most of my day on the move just looking for that killer one. I didn't get any big ones but I did collect some unique items that I haven't collected before.
