Fossil Squalodon Whale ToothThe enamel of this little squalodon whale tooth has incredible detail. I have found a lot of whale teeth hunting in the oligocene Chandler Bridge formation in Summerville, SC, but I have never found this position before. The enamel cap is fully serrated at looks like a molar, but the tooth has only a single root. Very bizarre - looks a bit like a torch!
