I've got the Blues !!!

I found a new land site recently that has a decent Palaeocene exposure.  The material is rock hard and I wouldn't have thought that it had teeth in it but I saw a small tip of a sandtiger sticking out so I knew I was on to something.  I worked for several hours digging and sifting, getting several small cuts on my hands and fingers from the jagged sharp shell fragments in the material.  There's no other way but to break up the baseball size clumps of material than to use you hands.  Anyhow, because these teeth come right out of the matrix, they are fresh and not water worn like beach/river teeth.  They have an awesome blue coloring to the crowns and a tan to orange coloring of the roots.  Unfortunately, because the matrix is so hard, a lot of the fragile thin root lobes can get easily broken off as you try to break up the material with your hands.  The end result has been worth the hard work though.  These shiny blue teeth are sweet!
