A Nice Day of Fossil Hunting and Sandal Cleaning

My wife ended up working today, so being that I took my kids to Sesame Place the last time she worked, I decided today was going to be a fossiling day!! My daughter really enjoys being on the stream but my son, who’s almost 3, can be a little particular in his needs. It took us many screaming episodes to get him to wear sandals this past spring and now he won’t wear anything but. At the same time if he gets so much as a grain of sand in them, he screams like a banshee. Put all that together while being on a pebbly, sandy, gravely stream - screen gravel, clean sandals, screen gravel, clean sandals ..... It was a challenging morning but a good time was had by all - even my son had a great time throwing rocks into the water. Ramanessin Creek was bristling with activity and there were a lot of other families searching for teeth. It was again nice being able to chew the fossil fat with all sorts of different people - young and old(er). We hunted the same spot as last week and while no monsters were found, we did come up with some killers : two sweet double-cusped goblin upper laterals, a really nice goblin anterior, a nice Cretolamna and a nice Archaeolamna. The two laterals, while not the largest, are two of the nicest I’ve found. It was a great day!!
