Ok contrary to popular belief only the area of the river near Princess Ann is the state park. Most of the river is still public property and fair game to fossil collectors as long as you fill in your holes and clean up after yourself, where the problem arises on the public lands is erosion, if to leave the site in as good of shape (if not better) there is no problems but if you dig a hole to China throw trash around and leave then the Game Wardens can and will ticket you for destruction of public property and littering. I remove all the trash from the sites I visit and fill in holes other people have left And have never had it out with the Game Wardens they go look to see what I am doing talk about the good old days with me and leave with a smile and an friendly word all love to hear ( Have a great day and I hope you find some big ones) Wardens are a great source of where to find fossils by the way!!! Beachbum and I (Cetacean) took ozzyrules45 offer to heart and went with him on Friday to a "borrow" pit next to the Lumber River. The finds were great and so was the company. Easy access to a very nice hunting area. It is even better if you stand in the water on a hot day (and don't think about the leeches lurking in beneath the surface). I look forward to many more hunting trips with ozzyrules45. Thanks again Jason! Content Quality : 10 of 10
