Potomac Perfection

I haven't been getting out to hunt much lately, and the few times I have gone out I haven't found much of anything.  I managed to get to the Potomac River Saturday morning, and while most of the finds were the usual chipped Sand Tiger type teeth, I did find one postworthy tooth- the best Paleocarcharodon I've ever found.  It measures 1-1/8 inch on the slant, and it is about the glossiest tooth I've ever pulled from the Potomac shore.

That is beautiful tooth to say the least. I haven't been down there for a while. Had to work in DC for a few days in May and went down but the conditions were poor to say the least. I'm amazed at the preservation of some of the stuff down there. Had a few good trips close to home lately. I'll post NJ next week, just got a new computer at the house finally. I'll never forget the day my cousin and I met you on your way out and I found that giant Otodus. Well worth the hike! Content Quality : 10 of 10

Tom, that tooth is incredible. I have yet to find one. I'm so jealous! I too haven't been out much locally since early July. Good to hear a report from you. I've been wondering when you'd post another report. Congrats on your find! Awesome! Content Quality : 10 of 10
