2 1/8" Angustidens Shark Tooth

Here's another pristine, stunning beauty from the grey chandler bridge layer of the latest exposure we've been working. You'll NEVER see colors like these anywhere else!
Location Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA
Species Carcharocles angustidens
Age Oligocene Epoch
Formation Chandler Bridge Formation
Category Shark Teeth
Length 2 1/8 inches

ID894
Memberdw
Date Added1/18/2004

This is what the tooth looks like when its dry! It was amazing to behold when I first found it. Freshly dug teeth almost glow when they come out of the ground because the moisture makes the colors so vibrant. Most teeth lose a little when they dry, but this one hardly changed appearance at all.
