This tooth has some of the best color I've seen in a Chilean tooth. Its a unique mustard colored tint that I've not seen from elsewhere. I just got this in trade....

2 3/8" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
The first nice tooth I found at the place that should not be. Has a little wear to the root, but I don't care the colors are awesome and its quite large for a mako of that size. ...

An awesome looking mako tooth. Check out those wicked colors!...
1 15/16" Pathologic Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This is a complete but worn mako tooth - no comparison to the quality of the makos I found at Aurora last week, but this one has something else going for it - a really cool looking pathology. Where the blade meets the enamel on the right side is really twisted up. This normally happens on large teeth like megalodons because the teeth become bunched up in the shark's mouth and the teeth wrinkled up to make room for each other. I don't know what this tooth's story is, but it looks cool....

2 3/8" Mako Shark Tooth   Lee Creek Mine, Aurora, North Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis

2 3/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
The best tooth of the day and its pretty much perfect. Has a unique feature where the root kind of overlaps the blade. The colors on this thing are fantastic and some what similar on one side to peruvian teeth and the other side is similar to that of auroa teeth. ...
2 7/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Its not the best mako I've found, but I usually dont find many of this size. It has a small strip of peel and a little root erosion. Other than the minor defects this tooth is great....
2" Mako Shark Tooth   Charleston County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
A perfect mako with awesome colors and its a lower jaw postion to....
1 1/4" Mako Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This is an absolute gem mako from Superpit. This is the best preserved tooth I've found from that location to date. The edges are razor sharp and translucent, the thin bourlette is 100% complete, the root is as perfect as can be, and the color is fantastic. Plus, its the position in the mouth between the anterior and lateral teeth - the little stubby tooth in between the big ones. This one is so pretty that it qualifies to be a necklace for my wife. I only find one or two teeth a year that measu...
1 5/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Calvert County, Maryland, USA - Isurus hastalis
The best tooth I found scuba diving at the Calvert Cliffs....
2 1/2" Mako Shark Tooth   Charleston County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Has a small chip to one side, but the colors are awesome....
2 3/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This would have to be the best mako I've found to date sense the Forbidden Pond dried up, where I had found a 2 15/16" mako that I haven't added to the site yet. The color on this mako is spectacular, it has a unique feature to making it look sord of tiger striped on one side. Just a perfect mako....
2 5/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This mako has a great blade and nice orange color to it. Just a little root erosion keeps this one from being perfect....
1 7/8" Mako Shark Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Its not one of the biggest makos, but it makes the site because its from the lower jaw postion in the shark and for the nice color. The lowers are a bit more uncommmon to find than the upper postions....

2 5/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Charleston County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Great color on tooth - the preservation is amazing considering it came from a section of layer where the teeth are poorly preserved and normally crumble when touched. ...

2 7/8" Broad Toothed Mako Shark Tooth   Lee Creek Mine, Aurora, North Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis

2 1/2" Mako Shark Tooth   Colleton County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Its been a while since I found a Mako this big! I was on the bottom of the river fanning the sand, and this puppy just popped out. Underwater, everything looks 25% larger than above water, so when I first saw it, it was giant! And its in great shape, too. No real defects on this one....
1 13/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This tooth is as close to perfect as land teeth get where I come from. And the coolest part is that Wednesday when I walked the pond where I found this tooth, I walked right past it. My footprint was 6 inches from this tooth, and today I just happened to see it while I was taking a drink. The root on this baby is supreme. It has these little ears that extend over the blade that really give it a cool look....
2 1/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
The condition of this tooth is really great considering the layer I found it in. Giant rocks mixed in with sandy clay normally make for pummeled teeth, but this tooth somehow survived intact. The colors are awesome - yellow with white marbling. The edges are sharp, and the root is complete as well....
2 1/8" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This is surely the first of many teeth to come from a promising new ditch. From what I can tell, everything there will be really light colored like this tooth. Its SWEET! The marbling is killer. Brown and orange lines criss-cross the white root and blade. There is a little wear, but if you had seen the size of the gravel in this new spot, you'd wonder how this tooth made it out in one piece!...
2" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This tooth has the most amazing colors! The root has a little wear, but the blade is great. The edges are sharp and so is the tip. To believe I found this on a road where giant track hoes routinely drive. Its amazing that this tooth is still whole....
2 1/16" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Its been several weeks since I've pulled a nice mako out of the forbidden. This could be the last one since the pond is almost done. Good thing it was a nice one!...

2 1/8" Mako Shark Tooth
2 1/8" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Unbelievable colors, a flawless root, razor sharp edges, and a sharp tip are the best features of this tooth. What else is there? I guess that makes this one perfect....
3" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Every once in a while, I come across a true rarity. A fossil representative of the splendor of nature. This is one of those fossils. A true 3 inch mako. Its MASSIVE. Period. They don't get much bigger than this. The biggest I ever saw was 3 1/4 inches long. And this tooth, as massive as it is, is still in fantastic condition. It has a great root, and the blade is razor sharp. The colors are fantastic, and its chatoyant - that is, when you look at it at different angles, it is a different color. ...
1 3/4" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
1 3/4" Mako Shark Tooth
2 3/8" Mako Shark tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Another great Mako from the forbidden pond. Great root, and awesome orange-brown-grey enamel. There's a little ding to the new blade right under the right root lobe....
2 1/2" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This is a lower in great shape. The root is the best part - absolutely no wear. The tip is a little worn - no biggie....
2 1/2" Mako Shark Tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
This is probably the best mako I've found in 2 years. Everything about it is flawless, and its edges are sharp enough to shave with....
2 1/16" Mako shark tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Its been a long time since I found a mako in this great of condition. The color is fantastic, the root is pristine, and the edges are as sharp as a razor. Teeth of this quality are few and far between in the Hawthorne formation!...
2 1/8" Mako shark tooth   Dorchester County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Here's a beautifully colored, if slightly worn, mako tooth. The root is totally snazzy, and the enamel has a beautiful golden color with random dark patterns throughout it. ...
2" Mako Tooth   Berkeley County, South Carolina, USA - Isurus hastalis
Great color on this upper lateral tooth....
2 1/2" Mako Shark Tooth   Atacama Desert, Chile - Isurus hastalis

A truly massive Chilean Mako tooth....
2 3/4" Mako Shark Tooth   Atacama Desert, Chile - Isurus hastalis
This tooth comes from Chile and it is absolutely stunning. There are absolutely no imperfections, and its so sharp you could shave with it. How I would love to collect there!...
2 3/8" Mako Tooth   Isurus hastalis
flawless specimen from Bakersfield, CA...
2 15/16" Mako Tooth   Isurus hastalis
flawless specimen....
