GMR Trip 7/5/2010

Well the day started out meeting up with wrick we had discussed meeting up today and going out to scout a few possible new sites, the morning started out at around 9 am and off we went to the first, what we were hoping good site. We didnt find any teeth but did find some shells and some nice geodes, in which I will get some pics of tomorrow. We found around 10 or so softball size stones, for some reason these dont have the nice shiny crystals like most do, IDK.

We left that spot and headed to the next with no much sucess there either, the creek that we looked in there didnt look to promising and was very snake infested, so rick decided that it was probably best we just go back to ole faithful at GMR.

I took him to the spot that I have been digging in for a while now and where I found the nice stanfield blade last week in the trip reports, and after some engineering in the creek we made the water help us out, lol. We dug for about 5 hours and found a pretty good assortment of nice teeth, a couple of nice 2" makos and some nice 2" GW's, got a few big crow teeth and I got (help me out rick) the back tooth of a meg??? I dont remember what he called it, Im still learning. I think I ended up with 5 GW's 2 of which were perect and 2 perfect makos, and mark ended up with 2 perfect GW's and a few perfect mako's.

All in all I would say that we had a very sucessful trip back to GMR and now we know some new places to go and not to go.

In the pics below ricks finds are on the right and mine are on the left.
