Oldies but Goodies

One of the things I do after a trip is rinse the teeth, pick out the nicer ones, then set them on a paper plate to dry. I never put stuff away right away (as my wife will atest to), so there are times when I have several of these "paper plates" full of teeth stacked on one of my desks. Well, the pics below are two such "plates" with some decent teeth from trips a while back. My favorites are the small light colored Meg, the perfect lower cowshark, and a few of the hemi's, especially one of the larger uppers that is perfect. Overall a nice assortment of teeth, and even a nice small scallop shell to show I'm a well rounded collector (who am I kidding, shells are for girls!) - just kidding, really, don't send me nasty emails :) One of the things I'll point out about the stuff you see there in these pics is the assortment, which represents the majority of the species that one can expect to find, however, not necessarily all in one day. I think the variety is simiilar to what we would normally find at Lee Creek; Megs, cows, sandtigers, tigers (aduncus, contortus), fish teeth (3 barracuda teeth in my one pic), stingray teeth & barbs, shark & fish verts, hammerhead teeth, carcharhinus/bull shark, thresher, hemi's, mako's, porpoise teeth, etc. Oh ya, and shells - hee hee! One last thing...there are basically two pics, but I uploaded 2 versions of each; one original size, one scaled down size. The scaled down size should open and provide a quick "full view" of the whole image. The "original" size will possibly open so that you either have to click on it to zoom in, or you may have to use the scroll bars on the window to slide around and see each tooth. Either way, the original allows you (I hope) to see the close up details on the teeth.
