The water isn't cold anymore!

Went to a nice beach where I find small fossils much more easily and...   Anyone have an idea what that mammal tooth is with the worn roots? Looks similar to a wolf tooth in "Vertebrate Fossils: A Neophyte's Guide"..  Hmmm.   I was telling my niece about how often something 'that looks like this' will end up being an acorn cap, and it ended up being this polished vert.   Just as our finding rate picked up though, the thunder rolled and popular consensus took us away.  (I heard later that that was Williamsburg getting a hailstorm) So... this mammal tooth (?) is my interesting find for the day.
