6 3/4" Axe

This is a gigantic indian axe head and its the first one I've ever even seen! I met up with a dude yesterday who commonly goes to the big ditch, and we were going to show each other a few teeth. Well, he brought this along. We swapped stories for a little while, when he said he would trade this for a nice meg. I had to take him up on it because this thing was just TOO cool. I offered up the awesome nc red meg, and he accepted.

Here's what I know about it. A friend of the dude I traded with found it in his yard when they first built his subdivision in West Ashley (Charleston, SC). Keep in mind that I know next to nothing about artifacts, but as I understand, this piece isn't normal for this area because it's too big. Its more common for the northern nations. Whether its just a fluke, or there was trade going on, or that part of the story isn't even true, I have no idea. Anyone out there who knows, feel free to set me straight.
