Today was a unique hunt in a new location…collecting a mix of Cretaceous era fossils, along with Paleocene, Miocene and Pleistocene fossils in the lower Pee Dee region of SC. RivrDigr continued his SC fossil pillage and DW, RockSplitr, T$ and ThaWeezling joined in to meet up with PaleoBum for an afternoon of fossil collecting in Williamsburg County. This was day 1 of my three-day fossil quest. We started the day by digging a trench to permit screening. Next, excess water was bucketed out of the collecting pit. After this, we were getting pretty tired. Oh yea, fossils…PB dug out the fossil layer and filled our buckets, then we hauled these over into the creek for screening. Our backs were throbbing after a few bucketfuls until the fossil racking begun. Finding great fossils is a natural endorphine!!  Rd, myself, Weezling and DW all scored killer great white teeth. Luckily, T$ did not need a reference book for identification of the great whites as we each showed him our fine wares.  Alligator and crocodile material were abundant as well. This site is rich and in a few hours we all had some nice fossils to accompany our back pain. Thanks again PB!!
