5-30-09 Best weekend in a long time

This was probably one of my best weekends in a long time. I spent several hours on the beach. I finally got caught up at work, and my company’s projects seem to be moving right along. Life is Good!

I’ve been going thru gallons and gallons of material from the museum with the intentions of looking at the material that is less than ¼” when time permitted. When I was last in VA, I had the idea to build a “special” box to hold the material. I would kill two birds with one stone. I’d give my niece a way to look for shark teeth whenever she wanted, and I would store my material for whenever I wanted. The result is in the picture below… it’s a meg built out of stone complete with dental band and everything… There’s a nice whale vert for her to put her finds on while she’s looking. I had to commandeer side of her sandbox, but I don’t think she minds. It’s pretty cool and the whole family loves it. I have a design patent on this so don’t even think about reproducing it… LOL. Just kidding. It’s a great conversation piece for visitors.

I mostly hunt for teeth by myself, but when I do hunt with other people I like that they are BRF members. This way I don’t have to type as much for my report because they report on it too.   This weekend I hunted with Down By The Banks. He’s really cool and we have a lot in common. I had a wedding to go to on Saturday, so I hunted that morning by myself. I found a really nice 2.25” mako and a split whale tooth. I was in the right place at the right time to find that mako… If I would have been a second faster (or slower) I would have never seen it. Later that night I got a call from DBTB and we set up a time to hit the beaches. I was hoping that Sawblade could make it, but it didn’t happen. Sunday was one of the best times I’ve had in a while. We talked a lot while looking on the ground for some nice finds. Let me tell you something… don’t EVER walk behind this guy because you won’t find a thing. He should change his name to EagleEyes! We hit a few beaches, and I seemed to score some really nice tiger shark teeth. I’d hunt with this dude any day. I had fun. Thanks again.

your "whale tooth" may be a croc tooth, i cant tell from the picture but the broken croc teeth i have look like that, if you want email me a picture of the other side of the tooth. That will confirm if its a croc tooth or a whale tooth, great teeth once again! Content Quality : 10 of 10
