April Trips

I've been able to get out a few times in the last few weeks, with a couple interesting finds.  The first picture was two weekends ago when the tide was low.  I found a nice 2.5" meg in shallow water and also only my second ray scute!  Then this weekend I was able to get out late on both Friday and Saturday.

Friday I hit the beach after work and came away with two nice cows, some nice smaller teeth, and two tiny beat up megs.  Then Saturday I hit a beach on the choptank formation that I like and grabbed a nice 2" lower mako with a little feeding wear to the tip.  I also found a mammal molar with a little luck.  I was scooping small stones and shells hoping to dislodge another big mako, when I bumped the molar out of the sand.   It's missing a bit of the root but otherwise it's in good shape.  My first impression was it may be peccary, but I'd appreciate any identification help you guys can provide.  I can post more pictures if it will help.  Anyway, it was a great couple trips with mostly good weather!

Hi Greg. You sure have a nice assortment of stuff in those pics. I agree with the Peccary ID on the molar. I love the water shot of the Meg. It's so neat to see them in their natural state just laying there waiting to be picked up. It's been great bumping into you and the others down at the beach over the last couple months. The water picture is spectacular! That stuff that dreams are made of. Taking a break for some water was a very good decision. That's a very good couple of days. I look forward to seeing you down there soon. Who knew there was such good searching in Bowie? DCC Content Quality : 10 of 10
