Edisto River Saber Cat Canine Fossil FindOn my last dive in the Edisto river this year I stumbled on one of the coolest fossils I've ever found in that river - a Saber Cat saber! Well, just the root part that was up in the cat's skull, but to find any part of an actual saber cat is incredibly cool. I remember fanning it out of the bottom and wondering what it was. I almost left it there but I am pretty glad I didn't. As soon as I got out of the water and could see it better, I knew what it was. I've since showed it to several other fossil collectors and they all thought I was right on the ID so I'm pretty confident that's what this particular piece is.
