Edisto River Saber Cat Canine Fossil Find

On my last dive in the Edisto river this year I stumbled on one of the coolest fossils I've ever found in that river - a Saber Cat saber! Well, just the root part that was up in the cat's skull, but to find any part of an actual saber cat is incredibly cool. I remember fanning it out of the bottom and wondering what it was. I almost left it there but I am pretty glad I didn't. As soon as I got out of the water and could see it better, I knew what it was. I've since showed it to several other fossil collectors and they all thought I was right on the ID so I'm pretty confident that's what this particular piece is.

That is an awesome find! No picture of post of those anywhere comes to recent memory, congrats! Those are one cool creature. I think your haul for the day was sweet even if you didnt find the sabre tooth. You have some sweet makos and angys there! Looks like a pretty sucessful dive! Congrats! Content Quality : 10 of 10
